So you're ready to test...now what?

​The first thing we'll need to do is get you set up as a new customer.  We'll need your company's name, mailing address and phone number, as well as an email address for you and whomever invoices are sent to.

Once we get you set up as a new customer we'll review your test plan and issue a quote.  For non-domestic customers you'll also receive a proforma invoice as we require the quoted amount to be pre-paid in full; domestic customers need only to issue a purchase order.  Any unused pre-payments will be refunded after final invoicing.

As soon as we've received your pre-payment (or purchase order for domestic customers), we'll be in touch to coordinate a test date.  (Note - OIL is not able to schedule with certification agencies on your company's behalf.)

After a test date has been established, you'll ship us your dampers.  Please coordinate your shipment with our CUSTOMS BROKER, OIL does not accept charges.  The dampers need to be in full length duct with 1.5" flanges on both faces (see DAMPER SLEEVE CONSTRUCTION) to allow for clamping to adjoining duct sections (see DUCT & TRANSITION REQUIREMENTS and DUCT INVENTORY).  If the dampers ship without the angles attached, we'll charge you to install them...so make sure to mount your angles at the factory!  DO NOT ship your dampers with Styrofoam packaging, you will be charged a fine for each pallet if you do (Styrofoam debris contaminates our chambers, the fine covers the cleaning and disposal fees).  Refer to our STANDARD TERMS & CONDITIONS and all assumptions listed on your quote for additional details.  

Structural integrity testing requires your samples to be fabricated in a knock-down fashion so the assembly will fit in our temperature degradation oven, refer to STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY TEST SAMPLE building instructions.  

If you're unable to make it to the lab to witness the testing due to Covid travel restrictions, or for whatever reason, we offer remote testing with a live video feed with views of the damper as well as the instrumentation.
